EnergyEdge® Foundation
The EnergyEdge® system is a high performance slab edge system that Forms, Insulates and Protects the exterior face of the uninsulated edges of a concrete slab foundation. The system consists of PVC rails, snap-on braces and expanded polystyrene (EPS) insulation. The rails are available in 12-foot lengths and can be cut using standard building tools to form a perimeter for the construction of the slab. EnergyEdge provides a R-10 thermal resistance value and meets International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) requirements.
EnergyEdge can be used with wood stud, ICF and SIP foundations. Since the system remains in place after construction, there is no need for labor-intensive stripping and recovery of forming materials, which also reduces waste, hauling and landfill costs. The system contributes toward ENERGY STAR® ratings, LEED® points and NAHB Green Building Standards.
EnergyEdge products provide insulation benefits that complete building systems like wood stud with standard insulation, ICF block, SIP, CMU, and radiant slabs. The rails also provide a location for exterior finishing systems like stucco, EIFS, and vinyl siding to weep (see picture).

Insulated Concrete Slab Edge Forms:
1. Forms perimeter of required slab.
2. Permanent forms remain in place after concrete hardens.
3. Serves as integral finished and insulated slab edge.
5. Provides required thermal continuation of building envelope on outside face of exposed slab edge from top of slab to top of concrete foundation.
6. Meets design criteria for slab edge insulation required by ASHRAE 90.1 building energy conservation standards.
